Academic Qualification:
- A graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of Marathi language compulsory
- Final year candidates are eligible to apply but their result should have been declared before the last date of form submission for Main exam.
- Internship (where applicable) must have been completed before the last date of form submission for Main exam.
Attempts at the exam:
- Open – 06
- OBC and remaining backward classes- 09
- SC/ST – No limit on attempt
Physical Requirements:
- Men : Height – 165cms (without shoes/chappals), Chest – 79cms (84cms expanded). Expansion 5 cms
- Women: Height – 157cms (without shoes/chappals)
Handicapped candidates are NOT eligible.

@सोमनाथ, मित्रा, जेव्हा ड्युटी वर असाल तेव्हा अभ्यास करू नये आणि जेव्हा अभ्यासाला वेळ मिळत असेल तेव्हा मात्र मन लावून अभ्यास करावा. आता तिथे प्रत्येक वेळी म्हणजे प्रत्येक तासाला फायरिंग होत नसेल तर तुमचा अभ्यास होईलच. त्यासाठी मनाची एकाग्रता लागेल. काही धेय्य समोर असेल तर त्यासाठी कष्ट तर करावेच लागतील.

@Swapnil, yes, OBC has reservation for PSI. You can apply for PSI exam but not for 2012 because last date is already over.

@Hemant, your knowledge of Ethical Hacking will be very useful for Police department. Join it as DySP through MPSC Rajyaseva exam or IPS through UPSC Civil Services exam.

@Vishal, you should refer past 5 yrs papers (just to know what types of questions are asked. Never expect that questions are repeated, ok?). You should prepare according to the syllabus. Read extensively.

@Sandip, the final result should be out before last date of the form submission for Main exam and in your case, this is not possible because your 6th Sem’s result would not be declared by Aug 2012, right? Officially, you are allowed to take up this exam during your final year.

AMIE or DME after 12th is right

@Sachin, ex-serviceman साठी अगोदर जागा राखवून ठेवल्या जायच्या आणि जितकी मिलिटरी सर्विस केली ती वजा केल्या जात होती व काही वर्ष जोडून वयोमर्यादा वाढवून मिळत होती परंतु आता पी.एस.आय. पोस्ट क्लास २ अधिकारी (non-gazetted) केल्यामुळे वयोमर्यादा फक्त ५ वर्षांनी वाढवून मिळते पण जागा राखवून ठेवल्या जात नाहीत. ह्याबद्दल कोर्टात केस चालू आहे.
Sir, does this mean for ex-servicemen, max age limit for PSI is 28+5=33 years. Pls confirm. My brother is service in army currently and thinking of appearing for PSI exam after getting retired. I did check the PDF on mpsc website but it is very confusing and i am not able to get clear cut mention of age limit for ex-servicemen.
@Nandkumar, at present PSI is a Class II post. Earlier, the eligible age for PSI post was calculated by deducting total service of the Ex-Serviceman and then adding 3 years to THAT age but now this provision has been withdrawn since PSI was made a class II post. The deduction of service of ESM is now being done only for the Class C & D posts. If your brother comes under ESM and OBC/SC/ST/etc then he will get 28+ 5yrs+ 3 yrs so if he is of the age of less than 36 then only he can apply for PSI exam.
Thanks for reply Sir. So, as per new rule there is no age relaxation for ex-serviceman now. The age limit of 28 yrs applies to ESM for PSI post. Plz confirm.
My brother’s age is 36 and comes in OPEN category, can he apply for Class C & D posts. Can you please list some of the Class C & D posts? Thanks in advance.
@Nandkumar, age relaxation of 5 yrs is available for ESM. We do not monitor C & D posts. If he had potential then ask him to go for MPSC Rajyaseva for which he has should be less than 38 yrs of age (33 + 5).
