पर्सेंटाइल पद्धत: All competitive exams by MPSC:
मुलाखतीसाठी फक्त (फायनल रिझल्ट साठी नाही):
- Open category: minimum 35 percentile in Main exam
- Reserved category (all backward classes): minimum 30 percentile in Main exam
- Physically handicapped category: minimum 20 percentile in Main exam
- Sports category: minimum 20 percentile in Main exam
- Ex-Servicemen: minimum 20 percentile in Main exam
Explanation of “Percentile”: Percentile means the percentage of marks arrived by treating the marks of the candidate/candidates securing highest marks in that particular Main exam as 100%.
[Notwithstanding anything contained in the text above, if the number of candidates available for Interview are less than the number of vacancies reserved for that particular category for the reason that the adequate number of candidates could not secure minimum percentile marks prescribed for the particular category, MPSC may for such as examination consider to reduce the minimum percentile prescribed to the extent that at least candidates equal in number to the vacancies reserved for that particular category are available.]
पर्सेंटाइल पद्धतनुसार मुलाखतीसाठी कोण पात्र समजण्यात येईल?
उदाहरणार्थ – समजा मुख्य परीक्षेत A ला सर्वात जास्त गुण आहेत. त्याचे गुण कमाल गुण (100%) समजण्यात येतील व त्याच्या गुणानुसार प्रत्येक वर्गवारीसाठी पुढील उमेदवार मुलाखतीसाठी बोलविण्यात येतील.
म्हणजे आता मुख्य परीक्शेंच्या एकूण गुणांचा विचार न करता त्या परीक्षेत सर्वात जास्त गुण मिळवणाऱ्या उमेदवाराच्या गुणांवरून मुलाखतीला बोलवण्यासाठी किमान टक्केवारी ठरविण्यात येत आहे.

The percentile scheme is as follows.
Percentile of other students is not calculated from marks relative to topper; but it is calculated using marit rank of the student.
For Example:
Topper percentile will be 100% [This is correcly mentioned above]
But percentile of other students is calculated as
Percentile = [N-R]/ [N] x 100
R = Rank of the student according to merit
N = Total no of students appeared for main exam
For example
Suppose 4500 students appear for MPSC main exam.
And a student gets rank of 100 in total Maharashtra according the merit list then student’s percentile = [4500-100]/4500 x 100 = 97.77% (percentile)
Topper percentile = [4500 – 1]/4500 x 100 = 99.999% (percentile)
Passing percentile for open is 35% (percentile)
This means that for open category first 65% (percent) students will pass in that subject.
(Irrespective of the marks they get!!!! Please note this.)
For open category a student needs to get 35% (percentile) in each subject and 45% (percentile) overall to be eligible for interview.
This percentile scheme is only for eligibility for interview.
This method of calculating percentile is used for exams like IIT JEE, GATE, GMAT, GRE etc.

मित्रांनो, आता एमपीएससी २०१३ पासूनच ज्या मुख्य परीक्षा होतील त्यापासूनच पर्सेंटाइल पद्धत लागू करत आहे त्यामुळे आता कट ऑफ किती लागेल ह्याचा अंदाजच बांधता येणे शक्य नाही. कारण सर्वात जास्त गुण ज्याला मिळतील त्याचे गुण १००% समजून खाली खाली उतरत ३५%, ३०% व २०% पर्यंत ज्यांना गुण मिळालेत त्यांनाच मुलाखतीला बोलविण्यात येईल. हो एक गोष्ट आहे कि जितक्या जागा भरायच्या आहेत त्याच्या तीन पटच उमेदवार मुलाखतीसाठी बोलविण्यात येतील.

@सोनाली, त्यासाठी एमपीएससीची जी परीक्षा द्यायची आहे तिचा अभ्यासक्रम बघावा आणि त्यानुसार जास्तीत जास्त पुस्तके, मासिके, वर्तमानपत्रे वाचून स्वत:चे नोट्स तयार करावेत. खाली सक्सेस मंत्र दिलेत, ते वाचून सुरुवात करा.

@Vishakha, you must not depend on just one book. You should refer maximum books. List of all books is available in eProspectus.

@Ajit, there is no optional subject for MPSC. Refer syllabus of MPSC exam and start preparation accordingly.

@Habeeb, you should refer a book on grammar and improve your Marathi grammar. Also read a newspaper (mostly read editorials) and write at least 1 full page (A4 size) of the matter in your own words in Marathi.

@संदीप, मित्रा, तू हिम्मत सोडू नकोस. अपयश ही यशाची पायरी असते हे तर तुला माहितच आहे. स्वप्न पूर्ण करायचे असेल तर त्यासाठी निरंतर प्रयत्न करावेच लागतात. परंतु ते प्रयत्न योग्य त्या मार्गाने करावे लागतात. तुला कमी मार्क्स पडत आलेत ह्याचा आर्थ हाच कि तुझे वाचन/अभ्यास योग्य रीतीने झालाच नाही. फिजिकल ची तयारी सुरूच ठेवावी आणि पुढील परीक्षेच्या मेन्स ची तयारी सुरु करावी (पूर्व च्या आधीच मेन्स ची तयारी करावी असे माझे नेहमीच म्हणणे असते). स्वत:चे नोट्स तयार केलेच पाहिजेत आणि ते सुद्धा जास्तीत जास्त पुस्तकांचा सखोल अभ्यास करूनच. ४० पुस्तके, ३-४ मासिके (प्रत्येक महिन्याचे), दररोज २-३ वर्तमानपत्रे वाचून तयारी करावी.
