You have recently given exam or passed 12th Std and you wish to prepare for MPSC/UPSC, right?
OK, here is the excellent planning especially for you for the next 3 to 4 yrs:
- You should concentrate on your degree course. This is most important.
- During 1st year of BA/BCom/BSc or first 2 years of Engg degree course, read basic books of History, Geography, Civics, Science, S & T, Economics, Environment, from 6th to 12th Stds.
- Prepare Notes from these books and then start with advanced books according to the MPSC/UPSC syllabus and prepare Notes on EACH topic. Strictly, do this only during last 2 yrs of your degree course.
- With regard to Current Affairs, you should read various newspapers like, The Hindu/Times of India/The Economic Times regularly and magazines like Lokrajya, Yojna, Kurukshetra, Science Reporter, Competition Success Review, Civil Services Chronicle, Mainstream Weekly, Frontline, India Today, etc.
- You should seriously prepare Notes from these newspapers and magazines during your last year of engineering/BA/BCom/BSc. You must NOT do this during first year of BA/BCom/BSc or first 3 years in case of Engg, because lots of changes would take place during this period.
- During the last year of preparation, revise in between and solve question papers at regular intervals.

@Utkarsh, in order to become IPS, you need to clear UPSC Civil Services exam. Please explore “UPSC CivSer” menu to find the syllabus etc.

@Dhiraj, sit with your parents and request them to reconsider your request. Ask them 2 years for yourself (completion of BA and a chance at UPSC exam). I am pretty sure, they will give you. Soon they give you permission, start preparation for UPSC from that day with full-energy. Put in your best efforts and you will succeed. Once you clear the exam, फिर तो दुसरी राह पकडने कि नौबत ही नही आयेगी.
सर psi/sti/asst साठी असलेले खेळाङुंच्या आरक्षणाबद्दल सखोल माहिती मिळेल का??

@सचिन, पी.एस.आय. च्या अभ्यासक्रमानुसार जास्तीत जास्त पुस्तके, मासिके, वर्तमानपत्रे सखोल वाचून स्वत:चे नोट्स तयार करावेत. वेळ असेल तर मुख्य परीक्षेची तयारी आधी करावी आणि मग पूर्व ची.

@भाग्यश्री, असे नाही. मुख्य परीक्षा ही पूर्व परीक्षा क्लियर झाल्यावरच देता येते. माझे म्हणणे हे आहे कि मुख्य परीक्षेची तयारी पूर्वच्या आधी करून घ्यावी कारण पूर्व परीक्षा झाल्यानंतर जी उपलब्ध वेळ असते त्या वेळेत मुख्य परीक्षेचा अभ्यास पूर्ण करता येत नाही.

@स्वप्नील, पूर्व परीक्षा इंग्रजी आणि हिंदीतच असते पण मुख्य परीक्षा मराठीतून देता येते व मुलाखत सुद्धा. मुद्दा इंग्रजी किंवा मराठीतून तयारीचा नाही तर काहीही वाचून समजून घेवून, मगस्वत:चा सराव करून घेण्याचा आहे. मराठी असो कि इंग्रजी, जे जमेल, समजेल ते वाचावे आणि संपूर्ण तयारी करावी. आमचा पिजीपी जॉईन केलात तर संपूर्ण गायडंस मिळेल.

@विनायक, मला नाही वाटत कि तसे होईल. आणि जरी झाले तरीसुद्धा तुमच्या अभ्यासावर/तयारीवर त्याचा काही परिणाम होणार नाही ह्याची काळजी घ्यावी. जो सखोल अभ्यास करून स्वत:चे नोट्स तयार करून वेळोवेळी रिविजन करून सराव परीक्षा (mock tests) देईल त्यावर ह्या बदलाचा काहीच फरक पडणार नाही.

@Balasaheb, yes, of course. With sheer dedication and hard work (proper preparation), you can clear any exam. You have chances for Rajyaseva/STI/Asst till the max age limit of 38 yrs (being SC)

सर मी इंजीनियरिंग च्या तिस्र्या वर्षाला कंप्यूटर शाखेला आहे . माला पुढे जाऊन राज्यसेवा व upsc परीक्षा द्यायची आहे . घरची परिस्थिति हलाखीची असल्याने माजी अशी इच्चा आहे की मी आधी STI चा अभ्यास करुण ती पोस्ट मिलवावी व नंतर पुढील अभ्यास सुरु करावा . तरी याबाबत तुमचे मत काय आहे . तुमचे मार्गदर्शन माला दया . व STI च्या परीक्षेसाठी मी अत्तापासून कशाप्रकारे अभ्यास करावा याचे मार्गदर्शन ,मला दया सर .

@गुलाब, मित्रा, ह्या परीक्षेचा अभ्यासक्रम बघून व मागील वर्षांचे पेपर्स बघून घे व पुस्तकांची जमवा-जमव करून अभ्यासाला लाग. इंग्रजी सुधारण्यासाठी ग्रामर शिकून घे व दररोज कमीत कमी एक इंग्रजी वर्तमानपत्र वाच. त्यातील मुद्दे समजून घे आणि मग तुझ्या शब्दात (इंग्रजीतच) लिहून काढायचा प्रयत्न कर म्हणजे तुझ्या इंग्रजीत सुधारणा होईल.
