As you all know that MPSC Rajyaseva Exam is among the toughest exams in India. To succeed in this exam, all you need is sustained efforts with intelligent preparation. This exam is impossible to crack without these two things.
Please answer my basic question, before we go any further. Why do you want to succeed in this exam?
Some of you may say “I want to join government service as there is no guarantee of jobs in private sector”. Some may say that “I want to serve the nation and the society”. That’s true. Some may say, “I can utilize my skills and education for betterment of the society, etc.” This is also true. All of your high moral aims are excellent and you should have them for the sake of country’s progress and betterment of the society.
And how can you achieve them? Yes, of course by clearing MPSC/UPSC exams. But, is it so simple to succeed in these exams? Is it a one month’s honeymoon? Is it so simple that one can sit for hours together for few weeks? For some, the answer for the latter question could be either Yes or No. But, tell me honestly, is it so simple? Your answer could and should be “NO”. Good, excellent dear. You are now on the success path.
I am very very busy with the writing of 3rd edition of MPSC Success Mantra – The Complete Manual but thought why not to take a small break and give you a quick small basic plan of 1 year preparation for the MPSC/UPSC 2012 and 2013 exams.
So boys and girls, here it is:
As of now, i.e. Dec 2011, you have 14 months in hand till you will be appearing in Prelims exam in Feb 2013.
As of now, you may have collected your basic books for Mains. If not, then do it NOW.
To appear in Prelims 2013, you have to prepare for Mains exam first and then Prelims and then again for Mains. How? Here is the explanation.
First, compare the syllabus for Prelims and Mains and underline what is for Mains and what is for Prelims.
2011: Dec = 1 month
2012: Jan to Dec = 12 months
2013: Jan = 1 month
From Dec 2011 to Sep 2012: Study Rigorously and prepare notes
Dec 2011 : MPSC- English & Marathi subjects (UPSC: English & Marathi & Essay)
Jan 2012 : General Studies Paper I
Feb 2012: General Studies Paper II
March 2012: Revise notes (GS I and II)
April 2012 : General Studies Paper III
May 2012 : General Studies Paper IV
Jun 2012: Revise notes (GS III and IV)
Jul 2012: Revise English & Marathi subjects
Aug 2012: Revise notes (GS I and II)
Sep 2012: Revise notes (GS III and IV)
From Oct to Dec 2012: 3 months – Study for Prelims
During these 4 months, read and study only for the topics that are covered in Prelims. In Mains, there are much more topics than Prelims; so compare the topics for both exams and do the preparation for Prelims by reading the notes you have already prepared during your preparation for Main exam (during last 10 months).
Jan 2013: Revision for Prelims.
This is ONLY a basic plan. I cannot spend much time on this here because of my busy schedule. The manual is nearing its completion.
There will be detailed Yearly/Half-Yearly/Quarterly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily study plans in the MPSC Success Mantra – The Complete Manual.
If you have not yet booked your copy of the manual, please do it urgently because I will be sending it personally to those who book it by paying the amount in advance and I am printing it only for these people. No body will get it anywhere in market. The manual will be sent by postal mail.
So this is your last chance to book the manual in advance to get your own copy else you will not get it as only limited copies are being printed.
To book it click HERE
If you have any doubts about the booking, you may call me any time at this number 8698277829 or 9987401168 between 9 AM to 2 AM (2 past Midnight). You may SMS if the number is busy, I will reply you back.
Good Luck friends.

sir,
can u plz tel me all the MPSC reqirments in 2011..
@Dhiraj, please put your question completely. It is not understood, what you need to know. If you are asking me about what exams MPSC will be conducting in 2011 then please visit their official website. Here, we provide only guidance.
Sir,
I m preparing for upsc 2011..
I haven’t yet started with my second optional..,
so if i start studying for optional 2 from October then what should be my study plan.
My first optional is pub ad and second is history.
and i m planning to appear this exam in marathi.
so plz guide me .
Thanks in advance
@Dipti, you should make out a list of topics to be prepared and a list of books to be studied. Make small groups of topics to be covered every week and finish them quickly. Make notes at the 3rd reading if the topic and not at the 1st and 2nd reading. Refer to at least 8 to 10 books for History. Read widely (extensively). If you wish, you can consider joining my 15 Month’s online program for UPSC. More details are here:
https://anilmd.wordpress.com/about-ads-ias-academy/program-details-and-fee-structure/
Ok sir..
Thanks for ur reply
I will start preparation .
so wht strategy should i follow for history?
Should i study topic wise?
and u r saying to make notes at third reading , so is it possible to in these three months?
and is it feasible to write pub ad in marathi?
@Dipti, yes, you can study PA in Marathi. You can plan your study as per your own convenience and available time. There are min 40 books in total and you have to plan it very well. You can depend on me if you join my 15 month program, I will provide you well-laid plan for next 15 months and all you have to do is “follow my plan” without even coming here.
I m confused about 1, 2 and 3rd reading..
I have bought some books for history in marathi..
But while reading i usually confuse . do i suppose to read whole book or should study topicwise. and start making notes after 2,3 readings of same topic from diff books ?
And if i follow above strategy i feel that i cant complete syllabus . so plz guide me for that
@Dipti, take 10 to 20 pages of a topic:
– 1st Reading: read it from a book and do not try to understand anything at this time.
– 2nd Reading: read it again and try to understand what it is
– 3rd Reading: read it and underline main points.
– Now take the 2nd book on same topic and do the all 3 steps mentioned above.
– Once this is done; write your notes using the main points from both books (Do not repeat the points).
Do this until the books are complete.
You have to do this in order to understand the subject from its depth.
if you cannot do this then leave your dream of becoming IAS/IPS or Dy. Collector or Dy. SP.
Remember: Hard Work Is Always Rewarded!
You have to plan your study else you will not be able to cover your syllabus. And that is where we come in, we provide excellent guidance during our 15 and 27 Months’ programs.

Dear Sir,
From where can i get english medium books of these two subjects,GEOGRAPHY & PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION FOR MAINS.because i ask at study circle centre(Nagpur) but they are saying you cant get these books in english medium you have to prepare these subjects in marathi only… IS IT TRUE? because it will be very hard for me to prepare these subjects in Marathi.
@Akhil, I have a solution for you. Please compare MPSC syllabus with UPSC and then mark the similarities. After this is done, go for books meant for UPSC (for the portion that is similar to MPSC). In addition to this, go to book shops and get reference books for MPSC in English from them. Here is the list of booksellers: https://anilmd.wordpress.com/mpsc-rajyaseva-main-exam/list-of-book-sellers-mpsc-exams/
Dear Sir,
I will be completing 32 years on 15.05.2011. Also, I have done Dilpoma in Computer Tech (Which is recognised diploma course from Mumbai University). Currently I am working and I would like to appear for MPSC Exam. In this regard, I need your support to get information about MPSC Exam and applicability i.e. whether I can apply for the MPSC and If Yes, what is the procedure to go for that??
@Mrs. Rajashree, if you do not have a degree, you cannot apply for Rajyaseva (State Services – Dy Collector, Dy. SP, etc) and other Class I, II and III services). Please call MPSC office and confirm it. You can get the contact number on MPSC official website.
Respected Sir,
My name is Ankit .S. Redkar.I’m a student doing my 12th this year.i want to be an I.A.S Officer.I’m planing to start my preparation after 12th.I’m a National level Basketball player and Athelit. Will there be any chances for getting passed or selected by this sports?what is the last age limit for this exams and how many attempts we get?????
Thank You
@Ankit, you are on the right track from the start. Yes, you should prepare your basic subjects very well at 12th and then your advanced subjects at graduation level. Make sure that you master them in 3 years. Yes, there are some reservations for National players. You must collect all National level certificates. The max age for UPSC Civil Services is 30 years, as of now. One can get 4 attempts (Open category), 7 attempts (OBC), and No Limit for SC/ST.

Dear Sir,
i am currently doing final year engg. I am interested in MPSC but i dont have much knowledge of how to enter in that area so plz suggest me the way from which i can enter in that world also suggest date of that exam
Thank You!!!
@Shailesh, please read all posts on my blog and try to understand them.
MPSC Rajyaseva Exam has 3 stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The notification will appear in Dec’10 and Prelims will be in May’11. Only after clearing this exam, you can apply for Main exam and after clearing both, you get a chance to appear at Interview. Failing at any stage will require you to reappear at Prelims again.
Sir,please give me 2011 mpsc schedule and STI exam shedule
@Ravi, MPSC Rajyaseva will be held in May 2011. STI schedule is not yet known. Do not wait for the exams, you should have started your preparation 5 months back for MPSC Rajyaseva Exam 2011.
what are advantages or disadvantages of taking admission in marathi or english.
@Pradnya, it is very simple. Choose whatever medium you are comfortable with. If you can write very well in English then choose it but if you think you can write excellent in Marathi then go for Marathi medium. There are disadvantages if you take up English medium and then you write poorly. Understood what I mean? You can call me on my mobile, as we have already spoken on some matter earlier.
