- डीम्ड-युनिवर्सितींशी (Deemed -University) संबंधित व इतर शिक्षणाशी संबंधित बातम्या
- आंतरराष्ट्रीय घडामोडी, वेग वेगळ्या देशांशी केलेले करार, भारताचे आजूबाजूच्या देशांशी असलेले वाद, सार्क[SAARC ], ओपेक[OPEC ], एशियन[ASEAN], चोग्म [CHOGM], सारख्या ओर्गानाय्झेशानांशी संबंधित बातम्या, आंतरराष्ट्रीय निवडणुका बद्दल बातम्या.
- भारतीय सेनेच्या दुसऱ्या राष्ट्रांसोबत झालेल्या एक्झार्स्यीज[excercises], सैनिकी सामान खरेदी करार, सैनिकी ऑपरेशन्स, इत्यादी

खाली दिलेले मुद्दे महत्वाचे नसल्यामुळे MPSC मध्ये त्यावर प्रश्न येत नाहीत:
- राजनीतिक पार्ट्या व त्यांचे दलबदलू धोरण. राजनैतिक नेत्यांची भाषणे व एकमेकांवरच्या टीका
- टेररिस्ट ग्रुप्स, माओवादी ग्रुप्स, उल्फा व त्यांचे हल्ले, इतर आतंकवादी संघटन.
- अक्सीडेनट्स, नवीन ट्राफिक रुल्स, इत्यादी
- चोरी व इतर गुन्हे, ह्याप्रकारच्या घटना
- क्रिकेट, बॉलीवूड बातम्या, फिल्मी गपशप, इत्यादी
आता सर्वात महत्वाचा प्रश्न. एखाद्या उमेदवाराच्या मनात नक्कीच खालील प्रश्न येवू शकतो.
जर का मी न्यूजपेपर्स वाचलेच नाहीत तर काय होणार, कुणी मला फाशीवर चढवेल का? का बर मी इतकी मेहनत घ्यावी आणि दररोज १-२ न्यूजपेपर्स वाचून , मग त्यावर नोट्स काढावेत, का पण? माझ काय डोक-बिक फिरलंय का एक वर्षभर ह्या बातम्या लिहून ठेवू?
परीक्षेच्या आधी काही दिवस, चालू घडामोडीवर एक झक्कास लेटेस्ट पुस्तकं घेईन आणि खूप अभ्यास करीन वेळेवर, तेव्हाच लक्षात राहील न! हे काय आतापासून टेन्शन घेत बसायचं! छ्या..
नाही, कुणीच फाशीवर चढवणार नाही. I repeat again and again, नाही, कुणीच फाशीवर चढवणार नाही. घ्या तुम्ही वेळेवर एखाद हे जाड पुस्तकं आणि बसा घेवून समोर. जसजशी परीक्षा तोंडावर येईल तसतसा घाम सुटेल, टेन्शन वाढेल, काय वाचू आणि काय नाही असं होईल. आणि नेहमीसारखं घडेल: ते पुस्तकं सगळ वाचून होणार नाही.
पण एक गोष्ट मात्र नक्कीच होईल की मुख्य परीक्षा २०१०, पूर्व परीक्षा २०११ व मुख्य परीक्षा २०११ मध्ये जेव्हा जनरल स्टडीज चा पेपर हाती येईल तेव्हा नक्कीच तुमचं डोक एकदम शांत असेल, काहीच समजणार नाही, काय करू आणि काय नाही असं वाटेल मग थोड्यावेळाने डोक फिरेल आणि मग तुम्हाला पश्चाताप होईल की खरं AnilMD’s ब्लॉग वर लिहिलेलं मी फॉलो केलं नाही म्हणून ही वेळ आली आणि आता काय लिहू मी ह्या परीक्षेत?
म्हणून जीव तोडून सांगतो, आता तरी उठा, जागे व्हा झोपेतून आणि परीक्षेच्या तयारीला लागा. कशाची वाट बघता काय माहित. तो मोबाईल सोडा बस झालेत तुमचे SMS करणं आणि गाणे ऐकणं. पुरे आता.
नेहमी परीक्षा झाल्यावर पश्चाताप करता आणि ठरवता की “नाही यार आता तरी खूप अभ्यास करीन आणि पुढच्या परीक्षेत नक्कीच क्लियर होईन, आई शपथ यार”. पण तुमची ती जुनी सवय अजूनही गेली नाही ना! करो, ऐश करो, तुमचं काय जाणार, जाणार ते आई-बापाचे पैसे जाणार ना!
जेव्हा तुमचे अति महत्वाचे वर्ष वाया जातील तेव्हा बराच उशीर झालेला असेल…पण तेव्हा…खूप उशीर झालेला असेल!!!

@Dr. Ajit, you should be ready for long hours of study for this prestigious exam (MPSC Rajyaseva) for the post of Dy Collector. You are a Doctor doesn’t mean they will easily get you in, NO!. You have to study and prepare very well and compete with others who have years of experience at the preparation level. Writing this exam is totally opposite to your MBBS exams. Refer to MPSC syllabus and question papers of Pre and Main exams. Collect study material and plan your studies. @Swati, Yes both papers are good. Also read Competition Success Review magazine. For MPSC, choose 2 optional subjects, collect books according to the syllabus of these 2 subjects as well as GS, Eng and Marathi and start reading the books, prepare Notes, read 5 magazines every month.

@Kiran, you lacked proper guidance that’s why you failed to clear the exam. You must follow my advice. Devote at least 8 to 14 hours everyday for next 28 days. You can do this by sitting at your own cafe. Writing this with a lot of hopes. I wish to appear for civil services and have just one attempt – next year. Unable to make up my mind to give up the job and work singularly towards that target – more because I am an average student. Have all the drawbacks that some one of my kind has. Love to read novels but feel sleepy when attepting to study…. Retention is average…. Day dream etc… Would like to talk to you – no, not to get boosted but to assess the situation and understand – should I or should I not?
