@Tanveer, there is NO age relaxation based on work experience for UPSC and MPSC. However, you can go for MPSC till the age of 33 yrs (Open Cat) and UPSC – 32 yrs (Open Cat).

@Sonal, without waiting for Prelims result, you must keep preparing for Mains, it will not go in vain even if you do not clear this time, this preparation will be very useful for next exam.

@Nilesh, you must refer the syllabus (UPSC Civil Services Prelims + Mains) and then collect maximum books, subscribe to 4-5 magazines, 2-3 newspapers. Read extensively and prepare your own Notes. Complete preparation of Mains first and then Prelims (well before 3-4 months of actual Prelims).
Sir, pls tell me that if in case some question from mpsc 2014 gets cancelled… how much will they affect the score and cutoff.. scorewise. i am from sbc category n got 130 marks.. what r my chances? pls reply.
@Rohan, it depends on the number of questions cancelled. I honestly suggest each and every one to focus on Mains’ preparation rather than keep worrying about cut offs. It will do good to you and not me.

@Sushant, yes, it is possible if you devote full-time for the preparation. You may have to refer few books in English for UPSC as quality or no material is available for certain topics of UPSC CS.

Can a obc/reserved student of age 34-35 yrs is eligible to take any open seat in final merit list even though he scores more mark than cut-off of open category?
Beacuse as per definition of “merit student” it is mentioned as
A candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC who is selected on the same standards as applied to general category candidates and who appears in the general merit list is treated as own merit candidate. Such candidate is adjusted against unreserved point of the reservation roster. Department of Personnel and Training O.M. No.36011/1/98-Estt.(Res) dated 1.7.1998 clarified that only such SC/ST/OBC candidates who are selected on the same standards as applied to general candidates shall not be adjusted against reserved vacancies. In other words, when a relaxed standard is applied in selecting on SC/ST/OBC candidate, for example in the age limit, experience qualification, permitted number of changes in written examination, extended zone of consideration larger than what is provided for general category candidates, etc., the SC/ST/OBC candidates are to be counted against reserved vacancies. Such candidates would be deemed to the unavailable for consideration against unreserved vacancies .

If candidate is 34 years and age limit for unreserved in 32, then s/he is availing relaxed age limit, hence will be considered against reserved vacanies only.

@Manoj, you should refer the syllabus, old question papers and then start studying each topic in-depth. Solve questions at regular intervals (within the time limit).

Hello Anil Sir, the time limit for mpsc psi/sti/asst is very less…..it is difficult to complete the paper in 1 hour due to 100 questions which even includes Quantitative n Logical Reasoning which ofcourse is time consuming….So can we do anything about it. Should I mail my feedback to mpsc. will they consider it ?
