@Santosh, you should prepare according to the syllabus by referring about 60-80 books (including basic books). Prepare your own notes, revise and attempt mock tests. You should read my manual “MPSC Success Mantra – The Complete Manual”.

It is mean that if there is cut off score is 200 and I got 200 in one subject and ‘ZERO’
in other subject then also m eligible???

@Nitin, cut of will be calculated based on both scores but there will be minimum passing marks in each paper (this is NOT disclosed by MPSC to anyone).

@Bhagwat, if you devote 4 to 6 hours everyday for next 3 months then you will be able to clear Prelims (Depends on how you prepare. Merely devoting 4 to 6 hours is NO guarantee to success). After Prelims, you also need to focus full time on Mains.

I am basically from north India that is the reason i dont know marathi. Currently I am located in Pune with my parents. I asked about appearing in MPSC because the age limit for MPSC is 33 yrs for general category . Since I am 28 yrs old now , would it be a good idea to go for UPSC. The age limit for UPSC is 30 yrs and I have to start afresh. My base is not that strong when it comes to UPSC. Please help me in this regard .

@Priya, in order to apply for MPSC exam, you need to be a domicile of Maharashtra. Next thing, you should be well versed with Marathi language. If you do not fulfill these 2 requirements, you can go for UPSC Civil Services exam.

Respected sir, What positions does Dy. Collector holds in a subsequent years after being promoted? And generally how many Dy. Collectors are there in a city?
@Rahul, normally there is a Dy Collector EGS and a Resident Dy Collector in a small district but in a large district such as Nagpur there are 23 Dy Collectors. You can check the Organisational Structure of your district by opening the official website of your district. @Dr. Rahul, it seems that the same pattern will be followed but it depends on MPSC whether they wish to develop their own pattern.

From your statement i understood following :-
1. If selected candidates are more , then MPSC will reduce minimum % of passing for GS papers.
2. If selected candidates are less, then MPSC will not reducing minimum % of passing for GS papers.
Is it correct ?
@Sandeep, as per norms, 2.5 to 3 times (of the vacancies) candidates are selected for Interview. Considering the average performance by the candidates at the Rajyaseva Mains 2012, if the number of candidates who have performed better (above the minimum passing marks) are more and there are 2.5 to 3 times candidates available for Interview then MPSC will not reduce the minimum % of passing GS papers. In other case, if the performance is poor and very less candidates are available for Interview then either MPSC will reduce the minimum % of passing OR may reduce number of vacancies.

@Datta, it is required only for posts related to Police and Sales Tax departments and not for Dy Collector, Tehsildar, etc.
Sir pliese give your gess about the vacancis of sti 2011. Government notification is that only 3./. Vacancies should be filled .is that true.

@Vinay, every question paper is set by unknown (to us) persons. At 1st level, each section of a question paper is handled by a different person and at 2nd level, all questions are put together for revision and at 3rd level, final question paper is set. Please understand that NO ONE outside MPSC’s exam department knows anything about who are those people who set the paper. DO NOT waste your energy over this unimportant issue. Concentrate on your preparation and be ready for anything in the question papers.

1. MSCIT 2. DOEACC – CCC/O Level/A Level/B level/C level.

@Deepak, as far as I know (I had confirmed this from MPSC office), if you have done 3 yrs diploma after 12th Std then you are eligible. However, you should verify this from MPSC Mazgaon office.
