First of all, I want to thank and congratulate you for doing such a nice work for young ones like us. I am 23 years old, mechanical engineer and wish to apply for the course. Can you please send me the details of course(fees,time and material). I first want to apply for mpsc and then upsc. I am working professional and can not leave job due to some family constraint. If you are really serious of becoming Dy. Collector then you will have to work hard else quit your dream. Yes, of course, you can prepare while you work. You have to keep aside 4 -5 hours for your study on weekdays and 8-10 hours on weekends.

@Amol, please check your email, I am sending you some English lessons for learning purpose. No need to join any classes. There is no compulsion of fluency in English at MPSC. All you need to do is to be able to solve the compulsory paper. Practice solving the old question papers.

Even i would like to know about the fees structure….
I am a bmm graduate and completed my post graduation diploma in film n teleivision.
The things which i would like to know are as following:-
1) I want to give exams for mpsc, but by any chance is there any dept for film n television or broadcasting in state, and if its there then on which post i can move on.
2) I want to start for the preparation from now onwards but waiting for the entire module. Like as per my knowledege the exams are divided into prelims, main exams and interview…. I WANT TO KNOW WHICH SUBJECTS TO CHOOSE AND WHICH ARE OPTIONAL SUBJECTS.
3) I would more prefer to apply for the post of Dy. Collector, just not because it sounds fancy but my uncle has asked me to go for it. But personaly i would like to know its duties and responisibilites.

1. you should research on the MPSC website for this specific post/vacancy based on your qualification.
2. Yes, first you should start your preparation for Mains (Sep’10 to Jan’11), Prelims (Feb’11 to Apr’11) and again for Mains (Mid-May to Aug’11). Choose Public Admin and History or Geography or Sociology or Psychology. Refer to the syllabus and then decide.
3. Getting Dy. Collector post is NOT as easy as one thinks. It needs a lot of hard work and perseverance coupled with planned study. Please read this article to understand duties and responsibilities of the post: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_collector
