my daughter has completed her 12th this year in science[pcb] what fields should she opt for mpsc and upsc exams.what are the subjects there on?
@Tanvi, MPSC doesnt require any specific subjects. UPSC is also expected to change exam pattern in an year or two; so let your daughter take up any stream for her graduation. Make sure that she stays in touch with the syllabus of both exams and start preparation accordingly from the very first day of her graduation. Kindly read this:https://anilmd.wordpress.com/other/12th-std-pass-students-should-prepare-this-way/

sir what r the optional subjects for a mechanical engineer to prepare for mains????
@Swapnil, no optional now at MPSC Rajyaseva Main exam. Exam pattern has changed.
respected sir.
myself swapnil pal…. i have just completed my graduation BE(mechanical), and also got placed in L&T IES as a design engineer. i have a keen interest in mpsc examination and ready to work hard for the same, but m confused whether to go for a job or prepare for the xam. what should i do sir, plz guide me am damm confused, and which field is best suited for a mechanical engineer i got lots of management skills but less technical skills but ready to work hard and make them strong. if i hold a job and prepare for mpsc, will it affect ma performance??????/ ma dob is 10/02/1991
@Swapnil, if you are financially very stable then go for full-time preparation. If you need a job for some reasons then also no problem, you can devote 4 to 5 quality hours everyday, 10 to 12 hours on weekends. You can very well use your management skills in administrative jobs of IAS/IPS or Dy Collector/DYSP/ACP. You MUST consider joining our Personal Guidance Program that can be completed from your home and even while doing a job. Here are details:https://anilmd.wordpress.com/courses/pgps/miracle-2013-pgp/
respected sir, i am student of tybba from pune university, and i have taken commerce feild in 11&12 so according to you what subjects should i select so that i can score maximum and it will be easy for me to understand….
@Jayesh, no need to choose subjects for Main exam. Since you are in TY BBA, you should prepare according to the MPSC syllabus.
sir, i had given 12th examination, but i want to complete engineering first,n i want to give mpsc n upsc exams….pls guide me how to study for it…
@Aditi, you should concentrate on your engineering and while doing so, you should read The Hindu/Times of India/The Economic Times regularly. Also read some magazines like Yojna, Kurukshetra, Science Reporter, Competition Success Review, Civil Services Chronicle, Mainstream Weekly, Frontline, India Today, etc. You should seriously prepare Notes from these magazines during your last 2 years of engineering (NOT in first 2 years because lots of changes would take place during last 2 years of your engg). Also read basic books of History, Geography, Civics, Science, S & T, from 6th to 12th stds.Prepare Notes for these books. You should do all this during your engg first 2 years and then start with advanced books according to the MPSC/UPSC syllabus and prepare Notes on EACH topic. Strictly, do this only during last 2 yrs of Engg.
sir thank you very much … i will try my best to implement it..
respected sir, i want to ask can i give 4 tries for upsc and 4 tries for mpsc is it possible………..
@Jayesh, it depends on your age. There is NO limit on attempts for MPSC exams.

respected sir,1) can i give 4 tries for mpsc & 4 tries for upsc in open categorie….2)or is there any rule that once you give mpsc you cant give upsc…..
@Tushar, 1) It depends on your age for UPSC. There is no limit on attempts for MPSC exam. 2) There is no rule that prevents you from appearing at both exams.

@Jayesh, 1) there is no category as SBC at UPSC exam. 4 attempts for Open, 7 for OBC and No Limit for SC/ST. 2) Refer our eProspectus for UPSC.
respected sir,1) is mathematics compulsary in upsc . if yes than what level of maths questions are asked in exam is it basic maths or etc.. 2)and is maths compulsary even in mpsc. i am asking this question because my mathematics is little bit weak..3) and one more question is human resource subject included in upsc syllabus
@Jayesh, 1) maths of Xth std is part of Logical Reasoning, Numeracy and Alaytical/Mental ability. If you do not solve these questions then your score will be less. 2) MPSC doesn’t have pure math questions. You can easily solve them. 3) HR is part of Management subject in Main exam.

sir i have completed my engineering in computer science.I have an interest in botany and zoology and thinking of taking that subject in upsc exams. But these subjects of my interest and my graduation fields are totally different.Would I will be able to gain In-depth knowledge of zoology n botany by preparing it for an year or two?
@Noopur, yes, of course, you can. In fact, you should choose the subjects according to your liking and availability of study material. There are chances of optional subjects being excluded from Mains. So keep your eyes open for such announcement by UPSC. Start preparing for English, Language paper, GS papers first and keep sufficient time at the last to prepare for these two papers (Botany and Zoology) so that you don’t waste your time even if such decision is taken by UPSC. You may consider joining our PGP:https://anilmd.wordpress.com/courses/pgps/miracle-2013-pgp/
