6 papers:
1) English (100 Marks) – Descriptive type questions
2) Marathi (100 Marks) – Descriptive type questions
3) General Studies Paper I (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) – 2 hours
4) General Studies Paper II (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) – 2 hours
5) General Studies Paper III (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) – 2 hours
6) General Studies Paper IV (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) – 2 hours
Negative Marking for GS papers – For 2 wrong answers 1 mark will be cut.
Passing Marks:
45% in each of the 6 papers for Open Category
40% in each of the 6 papers for Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBCs, etc)
Interview: 100 Marks

I never tried for MPSC exam.My age is 33 yrs. I belongs to OBC category. I have total 10 years of experience in IT field. Presntly working in a state govt. undertaking co.
Whether age relaxation is applied for state govt. undertaking co. employee?
I need your suggestion/opinion whether it is worth to try for the exam.
Now the pattern for main has been change to objective type, so I think that it is not as difficult as was before and I am confident that I can prepare the for the exam. But I am in a dual state of mind that whether to try for the exam or not because of my age and experience.
Kindly give some opinion as a expertise in this field.

@Nitin, being an OBC, you have age relaxation upto 38 yrs so you have at least 4 to 5 attempts left for MPSC Rajyaseva exam. There is something that made you think of MPSC, isn’t it?
Do not waste your precious time now and start preparing for MPSC Rajyaseva exam. Forthcoming Rajyaseva Prelims is on 10th Jun 2012 and Rajyaseva Main exam is from 1st to 3rd Sep 2012.

Before this i haven’t given any competitive examination but somewhere inside of my heart i really feel that i can do it and i have those guts of achievements but at the same time i am feeling myself so less confident because i haven’t examine myself yet but sir i really want do something challenging in my life and want to create a special identity in a society. Sir now you tell me am i really deserve for MPSC? Can i really get the success in this examination? and as i am doing 12 hours of job so is this possible with part time study? awaiting for your feedback sir…

@Vishal, we have already discussed this. Unless you put in your best efforts and devote at least 4 to 6 hours every day, there is NO chance for you. It depends on your hard work. If you do it, you will clear it.

@Kishor, go for MPSC first, start with preparation for Rajyaseva Main exam 2013 and then for Prelims. Devote at least 6 hours everyday, you should get our eProspectus for list of books or join our Web-PGP.

There is no reservation in MPSC PSI exam for Army people because it is now Class II Non-Gazetted post. It is better you prepare for STI/Asst or Rajyaseva.

@Sagar, every few years exam pattern needs to be changed to adapt to current happenings so it is being done my MPSC and so the time table. You should plan your studies accordingly.

@Aarti, you are not supposed to choose optional subject for MPSC State Services Main exam. The exam pattern and syllabus has changed. All information is on this page and you are asking WRONG question on the same page. This questions your analytic ability and this is what MPSC looks for.
