Here is the schedule of exams being conducted by MPSC in 2012:

Please do not get confused about the words “Direct Entry”. There are two types of exams held by MPSC, 1. Direct entry exam for all candidates, and 2. Departmental exam for only THOSE candidates who are already in the lower rungs in the department and they can apply for this exam to improve their career. For example, a Police Constable can give departmental exam to become PSI.

@Saee, you should devote at least 1 to 2 yrs solid preparation for IAS and then go for the exam. In the mean time, prepare for MPSC Rajyaseva to build your base, confidence, etc.

@Vaishali, max age limit for UPSC Civil Services exam is 28 (open category). For MPSC Rajyaseva Exam, it is 33 yrs, so you should decide about it. Please understand that you need at least 1 to 2 yrs’ serious preparation for these exams.

@Santosh, yes, you can go for STI, Asst, Rajyaseva and also PSI if your height is minimum 165 cms.

@Amol, if you are doing the diploma after 12th std, then only you can give MPSC Rajyaseva exam. For RTO, yes, you can. Please visit MPSC website for the time table since we do not monitor RTO exam. @Swapnil, you can become ACP by giving UPSC Civil Service exam and MPSC State Services exam. If selected through MPSC and given posting in a metro city you will be ACP.

Sir, I have completed my degree in computer engg and working in a reputed MNC. I wish to appear for MPSC state civil services exam this year. I have zero knowledge about MPSC or UPSC exam but have a good general knowledge and also i am up-to-date with current affairs . I have been out of touch with marathi writing since 10th. Now, Following are the questions:
1)Does civil service exam suit my background?
2) When will the notification for preliminary exam be out?
3)Can one prepare without leaving his job and daily dedication of only 1.5 hr?

@Nihar, yes, you can go for it. 1) Yes, 2) this month, 3) You must devote 4 to 6 hours everyday (for 2012) or 2 to 3 hours everyday (for 2013).

Sir,if i am degree apearing and result is awaited,then at which stage/month i have to show degree certificate for mpsc exam
@Sandip, you need to show the degree certificate at the time of Interview but the result should have been declared before the last date of application for Main exam.
