Here is the schedule of exams being conducted by MPSC in 2012:

Please do not get confused about the words “Direct Entry”. There are two types of exams held by MPSC, 1. Direct entry exam for all candidates, and 2. Departmental exam for only THOSE candidates who are already in the lower rungs in the department and they can apply for this exam to improve their career. For example, a Police Constable can give departmental exam to become PSI.

My concern is; I checked the MPSC website, they have not declared on website dates of State Services Examination 2012 yet.
Are you sure about mentioned SSE dates? Because I heard rumors , there won’t be SSE this year.

@Sachin, syllabus for these exams is different (there are some similarities, too), so prepare accordingly.

I am 23 years old. I have a Bachelors degree in Commerce(1st class) from Mumbai University and pursuing part time MBA in HR (Final year) from ITM business school,Mumbai. Also I have 1 and a half years of experience in Aviation sector. Currently I have left my airline job and have started full time preparation for MPSC exams. Kindly guide me as how many attempts or years I would require to put in for clearing MPSC exams.
P.S I am referring Study Circle’s books for preparation.

@Omkar, you need to clear MPSC State Services exam in order to become DySP. Yes, while doing a job, if you are able to devote at least 4 to 6 hours everyday (to start with) for 1 year, then it is possible.

@Yashwantraja, you are most welcome dear. Since PSI post has been made Class II (non-gazetted), only 5 yrs age relaxation is given to Ex-servicemen and NO reservation in terms of vacancies. However, you can confirm this from MPSC Mazgaon office.

Another good thing I would like to mention specially about you & your opinion published in daily Sakal about changed pattern of MPSC-main exam . All other Civil exam coaching class owners selfishly opposed this new objective pattern while only your opinion was,’good change for rural students’. @Sagar, if you read the GR, it is nowhere written: “UPSC-MPSC,BANKING,RBI,CRPF,SSC,HDFC,ICICI”. These 6 words have been written on the university’s website and NOT in the GR. What concern does government has with “HDFC, ICICI”? Why would they mention that this degree is valid for these private companies?
I have read the GR on the University’s website and it says “ही मान्यता फक्त दुय्यम शाळातील हिंदी शिक्षकांच्या जागेवर नेमणूक विचारात घेतली जावी व याप्रमाणे शैक्षणिक पात्रता धारकांची हिंदी शिक्षकांच्या जागेवर नेमणूक करतांना त्यांना हिंदी शिक्षकांना मंजूर केलेली वेतन श्रेणी द्यावी.
If you have the GR that mentions its validity for Class I/II posts, just let me know.

@Mahesh, this qualification is NOT for class I/II/III posts (MPSC Rajyaseva/PST/STI/Asst etc). It is recognised only for appointment to Hindi Teachers in some schools. Plz complete graduation from YCMOU/IGNOU.

@Suresh, if you are in Open cat then you can try upto the age of 33 yrs and if you are in Reserved category then 38 yrs of age. I am 26 yrs of age and have done graduation in BCA from tilak maharashtra.
Currently,I am working as a server engineer in hcl infosystems and now i have decided to prepare for MPSC for class I officer.
My question is should I quit my job and concentrated on my studies. My job timing is 10 am to 6 pm. Is it possible to clear the prelims in just one attempt?

Honestly, you need at least 1 year to cover entire syllabus of MPSC or UPSC.
