@Sayyad, you should take Mech Engg only if you have enough study material according to MPSC syllabus. If not then you should choose Public Admin or Political Science and History or Geography.

@Nishant, yes, you have made the right decision. You can now prepare very well and the clear the UPSC Civil Services exam in 1st attempt. What are your subjects at BA? History, Public Admin, Geography, Sociology are best subjects for Arts student. Sir I have some questions as I am totally new for ds competition:
1. I am working as a s/w eng in a mnc so is it possible to crack ias(i wil give at least 5-6 hrs) along with a 8-9 hr job?
2. Second thing its novmbr so its too late to start for 2011 or i have to target 2012?
3.Whether I have to prepare for pre or mains or both simultaneously? I am planning to opt Sociology and Pub Ad.plz suggest me some source to get the study material…

@Karima, yes, you can become IAS officer and run the country. India needs excellent and eager officers like you. If you have will, you will clear the UPSC Civil Services exam 2011 and become IAS officer. We will guide you.

@Meghraj, yes you can simultaneously prepare for UPSC and MPSC. However, MPSC is easy to clear than UPSC wherein you need to compete with aspirants from all over India. Yes, you can choose Marathi medium in UPSC.

@Vinayak, as I can understand from your communication, I woudl suggest you to go for Marathi medium. Also I am worried as to why our marathi people are opting only UPSC and why not MPSC, too? Any problem?

@Anand, yes, of course, you can start but I would honestly suggest you to go for MPSC Rajyaseva + UPSC becuase the syllabus are almost same for both.
