New syllabus for Rajyaseva Prelims has been introduced from 2013. Here it is : New Syllabus
[For MPSC Rajyaseva Prelims 2011 – Study Plan- ClickHERE]
This following plan was for Prelims 2010 so do not get confused. Click on the above link for Prelims 2011 exam Plan.
This study plan is for candidates who have not yet started their preparation.
Actual Time Available For Preparation: 61 Days (1st March 2010 to 30th Apr 2010) + 7 Days (1st May 2010 to 7th May 2010)
After a careful research of the previous years question papers, I have listed the following subjects/topics that were given importance in the question papers. The number of days allotted are according to the trend of the subject/topic in the question papers.
Total Subjects/Topics to be Prepared: – 10
- Vidhnyan and Abhiyantriki (Science and Technology)
- Vaanijya and Arthvyavastha (Commerce and Economics)
- Bhugol (Geography)
- Krushi (Agriculture)
- Bhartiya Rajyapaddhati (Indian Polity)
- Jagtik Ghadamodi (Current Affairs – National and International)
- Buddhimapan (Mental Ability)
- Itihaas (History)
- Samaj Sudharak (Social Reformers)
- Gram Prashasan (Village Administration – Local Administration)
Since there is a lot to study in these 2 months time period, you must read carefully every subject/topic, within this limited period. You cannot afford to take everything at once and start reading. Neither can you study multiple subject everyday else you will mix up everything. The best strategy is to take up one subject and study carefully, finish it and then take another subject. This way you will spend a number of days on one subject and cover every topic/sub-topic of that subject.
Following is a trend of asking questions on specific subject/topics. The following table shows the numbers of questions were asked in 2008 and 2009 MPSC State Services Prelims Examination.
| SUBJECT/TOPIC | 2009 | 2008 | ||
| Kala Ghatak (Art Subjects) | 49 | Distribution of Marks | 48 | Distribution of Marks |
| Itihaas (Modern History) | 05 | 07 | ||
| Bhugol (Geography) | 16 – India07- Maharashtra | 11 – India6 – Maharashtra | ||
| Samaj Sudharak | 7 | 8 | ||
| Bhartiya Rajyapaddhati (Indian Polity) | 11 | 11 | ||
| Gram Prashasan (Local Administration) | 3 | 5 | ||
| Vidhnyan & Abhiyantriki (S & T) | 30 | 26 | ||
| Vaanijya & Arthvyavastha (Comm & Econ) | 30 | 34 | ||
| KrushiGhatak (Agriculture) | 24 | 30 | ||
| JagtikGhadamodi (Current Affairs) | 17 | 12 | ||
| Buddhimapan(Mental Ability) | 50 | 50 | ||
| TOTAL QUESTIONS | 200 | 200 | ||
According to the above question trend, I have allotted number of days to each subject according to its importance in the examination. You should plan your study accordingly.
SUBJECT/TOPICS DAYS TO BE ALLOTTED FOR PREPARATION
- Vidhnyan and Abhiyantriki (Science and Technology) : 10 Days
- Vaanijya and Arthvyavastha (Com & Eco) :10 Days
- Bhugol (Geography) : 7 Days
- Krushi (Agriculture) : 7 Days
- Bhartiya Rajyapaddhati (Indian Polity) : 5 Days
- Jagtik Ghadamodi (Current Affairs – Natl & Intl) :5 Days
- Buddhimapan (Mental Ability) : 5 Days
- Itihaas (Modern History) : 4 Days
- Samaj Sudharak (Social Reformers) : 3 Days
- Gram Prashasan (Village Administration) : 5 Days
——————
Total number of days allotted for preparation: 61 Days
ALLOTMENT OF NUMBER OF DAYS FOR PREPARATION
Feb 25 to 28 should be utilized for collection of study material and understanding the question papers.
Mar – 31 days + April – 30 days should be divided as per my personal plan which is appended here for your ready reference. You may change it according to your preference and interest in subjects/topics.
| From – To | Days | Subject / Topic |
| 1st Mar – 10th March | 10 | Vaanijya and Arthvyavastha (Commerce and Economics) |
| 11th Mar – 20th March | 10 | Vidhnyan and Abhiyantriki (Science and Technology) |
| 21st Mar – 27th March | 7 | Krushi (Agriculture) |
| 28th Mar – 3rd April | 7 | Bhugol (Geography) |
| 4th April – 8th April | 5 | Bhartiya Rajyapaddhati (Indian Polity) |
| 9th April – 13th April | 5 | Gram Prashasan (Village Administration – Local Administration) |
| 14th April – 17th April | 4 | Itihaas (Modern History) |
| 18th April – 20th April | 3 | Samaj Sudharak (Social Reformers) |
| 21st April – 25th April | 5 | Buddhimapan (Mental Ability) |
| 26th April – 30 April | 5 | Jagtik Ghadamodi (Current Affairs – National and International) |
| Total Days Allotted | 61 |
During the above period while preparing, you must read carefully and make small notes on full-scale papers. Write in very small letters so that maximum notes can be written. You will need these notes for quick revision in May 2010. Do not write everything. You should read and understand everything and make very small (point-to-point notes) in 1 or 2 lines. Contact me for my own notes to see (scanned copies to show you how to make notes).
Final REVISION
1st May – 7th May should be for revising your subjects’ notes. You must utilize whole day for study since all main points needs to be read for a given subject/topic during the whole day.
| Date | Hours | Subject / Topic |
| 1st May 2010 | 16 | Kala Ghatak ( |
| 2nd May 2010 | 16 | Vidhnyan & Abhiyantriki Ghatak |
| 3rd May 2010 | 16 | Vaanijya & Arthvyavastha Ghatak |
| 4th May 2010 | 16 | Krushi Vishayak Ghatak |
| 5th May 2010 | 16 | Chaalu Ghadamodi/ Buddhimapan |
| 6th May 2010 | 16 | Solve Test Papers |
| 7th May 2010 | 16 | Solve Test Papers |
| 8th May 2010 | 24 | Total Rest is needed to calm your mind so that you can recollect at the time of your exam next day. Remember, DO NOT read anything on this day. |
| 9th May 2010 | – | Exam Day |

Sir, i gave my last sem b.e. exam. i have given rajyaseva prelim on 9th may. Acc. to the keys given by mpsc my score is 100/200. i know this year i have no chance to get in for mains. but would like to prepare for 2011 and need your guidance about study material , coaching at nagpur. I am placed in software company & will join this year. will it be possible for me to prepare then?
@Pankaj, being a software professional myself, I know how busy your life would be. But if you really want to do something you will have to FIND time for the preparation of MPSC 2011. I will be there to guide you. Please check email for details.
sir suggest me some basic books so i can start…….
@Pankaj, As a start, you should read History, Geography, Civics, Science books of NCERT from class 9th to 12th. Also have a look at this and choose your 2 optional subjects: https://anilmd.wordpress.com/mpsc-rajyaseva-main-exam/syllabus-mpsc-rajyaseva-main-exam/
sir, in some of ur post u wrote cut off will low down this year…..acc. to ur analysis how much will it be for obc category?plz reply…
@Pankaj, the analysis for this year for cut-off is based on the answers provided by aspirants but it is not possible for me to give you specific details for OBC. You must not wait for the result of Prelims. You should right now be studying for Mains. If you clear the Prelims, it will be good for you and if you do not clear, you need to prepare for MPSC 2011 and your preparation should, in any case, be for Mains 2011 and not for Prelims 2011.

I have lots of study material that I downloaded from Internet and it is in English so if you can come down to Ojhar, I can give it to you. You must bring a pen drive or a blank CD/DVD. I will send you email with my residence details and contact number. The study material is related to all latest developments at national & International level, India Year Book 2010 (English and Hindi versions), Constitution-and-Amendment-Acts, complete Budget 2010, Economic Survey of India 2010, Science and Technology, NCERT – S&T, etc. It’s over 150MB so I cannot send it to you via email. See you soon.
