Study Approach: Objective and Descriptive Exams:
When it comes to preparing for the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) Civil Services exams, the study approach may vary slightly depending on the exam format.

Remember: From 2025, MPSC has decided to change the exam format of MPSC State Services (Rajyaseva) Main exam from the objective to the descriptive type.

Here are some recommendations for both objective (MCQ) type and descriptive type exams for UPSC and MPSC:

UPSC Objective (MCQ) Type Exam:
1. Understand the Exam Pattern: Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern, including the number of questions, marking scheme, and time duration.
2. Comprehensive Study: Develop a thorough understanding of the syllabus and cover all the topics comprehensively.
3. Conceptual Clarity: Focus on building a strong foundation by understanding the concepts and principles behind each topic.
4. Practice Mock Tests: Regularly solve mock tests and previous year’s question papers to improve your time management skills and get accustomed to the exam pattern.
5. Analyze Mistakes: Review your performance in mock tests, identify areas of weakness, and work on improving them.
6. Revision: Create a revision plan and revise the topics regularly to retain information and strengthen your knowledge.

UPSC Descriptive Type Exam:
1. Syllabus Familiarization: Thoroughly understand the syllabus and the weightage given to different topics.
2. In-depth Study: Read standard reference books and study materials to gain an in-depth understanding of the subjects.
3. Note-making: While studying, make concise and well-organized notes on important points, facts, and examples.

MPSC Objective (MCQ) Type Exam:

MPSC Descriptive Type Exam (from 2025 onwards for Rajyaseva Mains):
