Dear Sir,
I have a question regarding the order of solving questions in the traditional Marathi and English papers of MPSC Mains. Do we have to solve the questions in the given order e.g. 1,2,3….OR could we solve the questions in an order which is as per our convenience e.g. 7,3,2,… essay the end? Please help me out. Thanks. Regards, Rahul
@Rahul, yes, you can. But remember: you should write answers to all sub-questions at one go. For example, Q. 2 has A, B, & C parts, so you should complete A B & C at one place (one after the other) and NOT A, B at one place and C after few pages. Understood? If not clear, you can call me anytime.
Dear Sir, Thanks a lot for the much helpful reply. I got what you said about the answers to sub-questions. I will write them at one go. If it is not a hassle, I would like to ask you one more question. This is regarding the instruction that says: “number of optional questions upto the prescribed number in the order in which they have been solved will only be assessed. Excess answers will not be assessed.” Could you please clarify this? Does it mean that for a “3 out of 5” question, one has to solve only 3 questions and not 4 or 5? What if one solves all correctly? or if one solves 4 out of 5 and the first 2 are correct but the third answer is incorrect and fourth is correct, then does he/she get only 2 marks or do they get 3 marks? The instruction is confusing. Please help me out. Thanks. Regards, Rahul
@Rahul, e.g. 3 out of 5: you are required to answer only ANY 3 and NOT 5. They will check only first 3. They will not go for 4th & 5th. If you answer all then you are at a loss. They will think that you are NOT able to understand clear-cut instructions so how can you be an effective officer? Even if your answers are wrong for first 3 and next 2 are correct then also these 2 answers WILL NOT be checked.
Dear Sir, Thanks for clearing my queries. Regards, Rahul
